The Urban Sculpture Project is founded on the belief that sculptures should inhabit the streets, open public spaces, parks, squares, and any frequently used areas, whether covered or uncovered. Modern cities are becoming increasingly impersonal and homogeneous, with ubiquitous clothing brands and identical shops contributing to a monotonous urban landscape. This lack of uniqueness makes streets and shopping experiences less engaging and more tedious.

Recent efforts to make cities more pedestrian-friendly by removing cars and public transport from old town areas or new commercial zones often fall short of creating a truly livable environment. While these initiatives may improve accessibility, they frequently lack the character and human touch needed to make these spaces feel welcoming and distinctive.

The Urban Sculpture Project aims to humanize and personalize urban environments by introducing sculptures that serve as landmarks and foster a sense of warmth and community. These sculptures are designed to be close to people, without barriers or pedestals, making them approachable and relatable. Placed at ground level, they invite interaction, encouraging people to touch, lean on, and engage with them as if they were friends on the streets, expressing emotions and ensuring that they do not leave viewers indifferent.

The sculptures, often depicting human figures, aim to accompany city life, offering comfort and a sense of presence. They serve as companions, enhancing the feeling of not being alone while walking through the city. While acknowledging the possibility of damage during times of unrest, the project embraces a positive outlook, aiming to inspire thought and reaction among citizens. It is crucial to cultivate a cultural presence in cities, and urban sculptures can play a vital role in this endeavor.

Culture must be persistently promoted, and cities need elements that reflect and enrich their cultural identity. The Urban Sculpture Project strives to embed these cultural touchstones into the fabric of urban life, making cities more vibrant, engaging, and human-centered.
